In the meantime, can you answer this for me:
• As a reader reviewer, do you discuss your blog with your loved ones?
• As a reader, do you tell friends and families that you follow book blogs, reviews, etc?
Just wondering.
Okay, really, the question’s been running around in my head for weeks so now is a good time for a distraction.
I haven’t mentioned my blog to the RL friends. A few coworkers are aware but nothing substantial like my blog name or through which blogging site. I am nervous that I may not be able to keep up with the blog. I would feel like a quitter if I quit my blog before the one year mark and friends were following on here. So for now, I’m not going to say anything further about my blogging. Maybe after having the blog for awhile…
As for the other question, most people close to me know that I read reviews and follow blog sites for book recs. They don’t find it strange; they know that I enjoy reading so whether I’m reading books or book reviews they view it as part of my “obsession” with books. Lol.

My friends and family are aware that I have a blog, but none of them follows it… mainly since I talk about books LOL. They don’t share this love of books… so let say that’s the reason why I have a blog LOL. Other than wanting to help other people like me finding recommendations.
My friends and family all know that I follow other blogs, reading reviews and so on. LOL, I often share with them some funny stuff. Mainly because it’s such a big part of my life as well 😀

Yes, my friends and family know that I have a blog and that I read/follow other book blogs. My daughter and brothers do come by my blog sometimes and lurk. 🙂
They’ll ask me questions about books, or where to go for recommendations, etc… since they are all readers. (Although not romance readers).
The one who gets the brunt of the conversations and comments is my husband. He doesn’t visit my blog but we talk about it and my books/latest reads. ;P

Yes, my friends and family know about my blogs (all of them..eep!). Not many of them read the book blog, but almost all of them read my personal and mom blogs. Sometimes it’s a little daunting. Especially because I often blog about things I’d prefer my family (read parents and in-laws) not know about.
Of course, my dh LOVES to tell people about my site. Just last weekend he told all of his extended family at a family gathering.
Mostly those are my concerns for my personal blogs. I don’t mind if others know about my book blog.
Which brings me to..yep, I tell people I follow book blogs. It used to seem weird, but not anymore.

Nath / Hilcia / Holly – Thanks for answering. I think I’m just paranoid with sharing my blog. There’s something to be said for anonymity, slightly easier for me to to reveal something truly personal about my life (i.e. venting about coworkers or family members) online rather than tell them off and cause a rift. Lol.

My husband and kids and a small number of close friends know about my blog. Even though I’ve given my blog url to the friends, they haven’t stopped by. In fact every once in a while one of them will ask for the url again and *still* haven’t stopped by. LOL.
If a particular book comes up in discussion with other friends, I don’t hide the fact that I’ve read about it on some book blogs on the internet, but the conversation about blogs doesn’t usually go beyond that.
I don’t blame you for not openly sharing your blog with everyone in your “real life.” It’s nice having this kind of separate place with a different group of friends to “talk” to. It’s a great community. 🙂
